Okay… fair warning that if you don’t like insects I understand this could be a scary or gross picture even…
But it makes me giggle…
The kids found some hornworms on our tomato plants today. Three of the four of them were covered with wasp larva. All of which (the hornworm and the eggs) was crazy interesting to this science teacher turned photographer so I grabbed my macro lens and headed out to observe.
I took a lot of pictures from a lot of angles but this one makes me smile because when I look at it I either see this little guy saying “CHEESE!!!” as if he’s posing for the camera…
… or maybe he’s an opera singer crooning away at his tomato-leaf microphone.
Maybe I have spent a little too much time with the caterpillars this week….
