the bushes are tall\u2026 no thorns or pricklies\u2026and yum!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5788\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-.jpg 900w, http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking--300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our go-to blueberry picking farm did not post any field openings this year so we had to look for another spot.<\/p>\n<p>And I LOVE this new find!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5789\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-12.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-12.jpg 600w, http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-12-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.frogeyefarm.com\" target=\"_blank\">Frog Eye Blueberry Farm<\/a> is in Knoxville, Maryland. \u00a0The town of Knoxville is only 20 minutes from Frederick, 9 minutes from Harper&#8217;s Ferry, 25 minutes from Purcellville, and 11 minutes from Lovettsville (according to a quick search via google).<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frogeyefarm.com\" target=\"_blank\">their website<\/a> they are chemical and pesticide free so berries are safe to eat right from the bush.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5790\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-8.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-8.jpg 720w, http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-8-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is a breathtakingly beautiful drive up to the farm which is surrounded by mountaintop views. \u00a0My pictures really don&#8217;t do it justice.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" title=\"20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking--11\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-11.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" title=\"20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking--10\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-10.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"879\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When we arrived we checked in at the table they have sitting near to the field. \u00a0When we checked in, the really nice man who was working at the table explained that they have about 20 varieties of blueberries (which ripen at various times throughout the summer) BUT\u2026 he explained, &#8220;we can&#8217;t tell you where each variety is planted\u2026 so we recommend you eat a couple and if you like them, pick from that bush.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Simple as that!<\/p>\n<p>I tell you\u2026 the kids were THRILLED to get permission to &#8220;eat a few.&#8221; \u00a0lol\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5793\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-9.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-9.jpg 900w, http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-9-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>(quick note about the picture above\u2026 blueberries don&#8217;t continue to ripen after picking &#8211; according to the Frog Eye Farm website\u2026 but it&#8217;s sometimes tough to get only blue ones when you&#8217;ve got help picking\u2026 those less-than-ripe blueberries are TART and would probably be good <a href=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/chocolate-covered-blueberries-oh-yeah\/\" target=\"_blank\">chocolate-covered<\/a> \ud83d\ude09 ). \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Frog-Eye-Farm-Blueberries\/159446190786200\" target=\"_blank\">follow the farm on Facebook<\/a> and their page is frequently updated with field openings and conditions.<\/p>\n<p>They seemed to have baskets for picking but we brought our own. \u00a0If you bring your own then you can check in and they will actually weigh the empty basket so that at the end they only charge you for the berries and not the container. \u00a0In either case I also brought along a few resealable baggies and a cooler to pack our berries for the ride home. \u00a0This allowed us to keep sightseeing (we visited nearby Antietam Battlefield National Historical Park) and not worry that we needed to rush home to a refrigerator.<\/p>\n<p>Last I checked the field are still open for picking! \u00a0We plan to go back soon so we have some to <a href=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/in-pursuit-of-frozen-blueberries\/\" target=\"_blank\">freeze<\/a> for winter!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5794\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-7.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-7.jpg 900w, http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140624_Frog_Eye_Farm_Blueberry_Picking-7-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Do you have a favorite u-pick farm for fruit? \u00a0I&#8217;d love to hear about other spots to find u-pick fruits &#8211;
