{"id":5434,"date":"2014-02-16T22:38:25","date_gmt":"2014-02-17T03:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/?p=5434"},"modified":"2015-06-10T08:51:18","modified_gmt":"2015-06-10T12:51:18","slug":"udvar-hazy-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/udvar-hazy-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Udvar-Hazy Center &#8220;Ascent&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is an image I took last July during a family visit to the <a href=\"http:\/\/airandspace.si.edu\/visit\/udvar-hazy-center\/\" target=\"_blank\">Smithsonian Air and Space Udvar-Hazy Center in Dulles, VA<\/a>. \u00a0After our visit we walked back to the car and I snapped away (as my kiddos grumbled because I always take too many pictures and it was HOT out there! Can&#8217;t blame them\u2026). \u00a0But I was also snapping a few extra pics because it was the first time I had been there when the take-off flight path was directly in line with the sculpture in front of the museum. \u00a0The sculpture is called <a href=\"http:\/\/airandspace.si.edu\/explore-and-learn\/multimedia\/detail.cfm?id=1607\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Ascent&#8221; and is by John Safer<\/a>. \u00a0I was thrilled to see it paired with the ascent of the departing aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>It was worth a few extra minutes in the heat I think&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5441\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_1579T2.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_1579T2.jpg 600w, http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMG_1579T2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is an image I took last July during a family visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space Udvar-Hazy Center in Dulles, VA. \u00a0After our visit we walked back to the car and I snapped away (as my kiddos grumbled because I always take too many pictures and it was HOT out there!
