{"id":5124,"date":"2013-06-30T13:54:50","date_gmt":"2013-06-30T17:54:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/?p=5124"},"modified":"2014-08-08T13:02:04","modified_gmt":"2014-08-08T17:02:04","slug":"the-demise-of-our-rose-bushes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/the-demise-of-our-rose-bushes\/","title":{"rendered":"The Demise of our Rose Bushes&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve recently made a sad discovery. \u00a0It looks like our rose bushes are doomed. \u00a0These bushes are shoulder height to me and full of gorgeous roses. \u00a0They&#8217;re knock-out roses so they bloom from May through November. \u00a0They have been my favorite part of our landscaping.<\/p>\n<p>But this is what is growing from many of them&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5125\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_0150T.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_0150T.jpg 600w, http:\/\/catinaanderson.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_0150T-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just by accident we found out that it&#8217;s not good&#8230; It appears it&#8217;s a tell-tale sign (called Witches Broom) of a deadly and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.missouribotanicalgarden.org\/gardens-gardening\/your-garden\/help-for-the-home-gardener\/advice-tips-resources\/pests-and-problems\/diseases\/viruses\/rose-rosette.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">incurable rose virus called Rose Rosette<\/a>. \u00a0We went to the nursery and asked if there was any hope. \u00a0&#8220;Nope,&#8221; he said, matter of factly, &#8220;&#8230;dig them up at the end of the season.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What a bummer!<\/p>\n<p>I guess I keep hoping we&#8217;ll learn of someone who didn&#8217;t lose their rose bushes when this happened&#8230; but so far despite google we&#8217;ve found nothing that&#8217;s offered any hope. \u00a0\ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<p>So disappointing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve recently made a sad discovery. \u00a0It looks like our rose bushes are doomed. \u00a0These bushes are shoulder height to me and full of gorgeous roses. \u00a0They&#8217;re knock-out roses so they bloom from May through November. \u00a0They have been my favorite part of our landscaping.
