Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, or is it Guildenstern and Rosencrantz…

Last night was opening night at Woodgrove High School. The highlight of my day was dropping off display boards and getting the chance to watch the performers see themselves in performance for the first time up there on those boards. It is a treat to get to stand back and watch them celebrate one another as they call out to their friends saying things like, “Oh my! You have to come see this picture of you! You are so amazing!!”

It is joy to know that in some small way these photographs might be helping them to see their own talent, strength and beauty. To see their excitement as I walk in the door with the display because they can’t wait to see what we got. Yes.. “we” because the image wouldn’t come to life without the entire crew – from performances to lighting, costuming, direction, and sets – I do not create these images. They are created by many, many people. And I’m lucky enough to be a part of that.

Today I’m sharing a few pictures of the title characters, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. I really enjoyed their antics – the relationship between the characters – the give and take – the back and forth. The show runs tonight and tomorrow February 10th and 11th at Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, VA.
