I am incredibly lucky to be able to use my photography to volunteer at my children’s school. I work on the yearbook and in that role I often get to go photograph amazing moments of discovery – those lightbulb moments I love so much. One of my favorite experiences to get to record each year is when the amazing 1st grade teacher takes her children out to release the Monarchs they’ve watched emerge from cocoons in the classroom.
To see their faces light up as they feel it first tickle their little hands and then see how excited they get when it settles into it’s new life in the wild is truly a blessing.
