Today Monarch #3 emerged from its chrysalis today.
Ah… and Monarch #4 did too! 🙂 He looks a little intimidating from this angle though…
Truth be told I’m so relieved to see him emerge healthy! He formed his chrysalis on the side of a mason jar so part of it was smashed against the side of the jar. I was worried he might not form correctly but so far he looks completely normal! I quickly put a net in for him to climb up and then lifted him out of the jar so he’d have enough space to hang and dry his wings.
Can’t wait to send these two on their way! They have sure brightened my day today and I hope as they migrate along the rest of their journey they’ll bring a smile to others who get to see them.
