“Clothing” Kindness Idea #3: Soccer Jerseys!

Our P52: Focus on Kindness Word of the Week is “Clothing.”

Here is idea #3 for those of you who are joining us in Northern VA.

Does your child or a child you know play soccer?  St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, VA has 2 groups of parishioners who are traveling to Honduras with Water for People in February and March.  They are collecting gently-used soccer shirts/jerseys, shorts and shin guards to take with them (along with other items which include soccer balls, over the counter medical supplies and school supplies).

Before you take that bag of clothes to the nearest thrift store or shelter, check to see if you have any old soccer jerseys hanging around.  If you do, consider dropping them off at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Leesburg, VA in the Narthex by Sunday, February 24th.

Take It One Step Farther:  Why not send a quick email to the entire team list?  See if the whole team is willing to donate their old shirts for kids in Honduras ready to play!
